Baker, Kyle – The Shadow #9 p.13

When Kyle Baker burst on the scene at Marvel during the mid 80's, I was blown away by his work and thought there was a good chance he could become the first inker whose comics people collected based only because of their inks. I might've happened, but he quickly became a penciller/inker and took his incredible talents to DC for a while, before ultimately breaking out into creator owned properties.

But the legacy he left behind and Marvel and DC, while quite brief, was also very memorable due to his innovative style which still resonates today, more than 35 years later. His work on The Shadow is a high point of his mainstream career and today is well respected and collected. This is a top notch page from that run that I'm offering up from my personal collection, so don't be surprised if this one isn't on the website for very long, as I may decide to keep it if it doesn't find a buyer quickly.
